Background

Upper Hutt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy’s website was originally built on Wix. The client wanted to move away from Wix and onto a simpler WordPress setup, with WooCommerce added to handle online enrollment and payments, so students and parents could sign up for classes and pay directly through the website rather than in person.

Alongside the migration, there was also a requirement for a calendar system to clearly display class schedules and related details.

The Goal

The client had a straightforward design in mind, prioritizing simplicity and ease of use over anything elaborate. The main goal was a website where visitors could easily:

  • Find information about the classes on offer
  • Purchase memberships or products online
  • Read blog posts related to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Result

As a GeneratePress developer, I rebuilt the site using GenerateBlocks, with a simple, clean look chosen by the client, while WooCommerce handles the booking and payment functionality for classes.
